Ian Lockyer (Community Safety Adviser) together with Stuart Cattell (Margate Lifeboat Crew Member and RNLI Lifeguard Supervisor) attended a safeTALK workshop on the 11th of June at ‘The Corner’, Ramsgate.  The workshop which was led by Sally Ward (Family Intervention Programme Manager) from the Salus Group who provided suicide alertness’ training and taught all those who attended to recognise persons with thoughts of suicide and to connect them to suicide intervention resources.

Ian said, ‘the training was well delivered and very thought-provoking.  The course gave each attendee the practical techniques to intervene and hopefully provide those who need it the support they require and the practical skills to keep them safe.
